Imo LP lamented over brutalization of NLC president
Imo State chapter of the Labour party (LP) has lamented over the arrest of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Joe Ajaero describing it as politically motivated. The Party’s Chairman in Imo State Barr. Callistus Onyekwere Ihejiagwa told Evergreen News Africa in an interview that the arrest was politically motivated. Comrade Joe Ajaero was beaten and whisked away in a guerrilla style in Owerri yesterday (Wednesday Nov.1). According to Barr.Ihejiagwa, the arrest of the Labour Congress president in Imo state is to intimidate civil society groups, Labour unions, market women, traders and artisan including civil servants as the state approaches governorship election. He wonders how the present administration in the state under the watch of senator Hope Uzodimma is gradually turning Imo state into a terror Zone.
