Ahmed Musa, the captain of the Super Eagles, stated that despite religious and tribal divides, Nigeria remains united as it competes for glory in the ongoing AFCON.
Musa made this statement after the Super Eagles defeated Cameroon on Saturday in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Musa urged Nigerians to keep in mind that “we stand united, transcending tribe and religion, in the beautiful game.”
The Super Eagles captain pleaded, “Let’s use the spirit of football to bridge divides and foster harmony amid the challenges our nation faces.”
“It’s time to embrace the love that sports bring, let go of the rivalry, the unnecessary killings, and the negativity,” he declared.
Nigerians were urged by Musa to “join hands for peace, goals, and a brighter future.”
After victories in 1980, 1994, and 2013, the Super Eagles now go to the quarterfinals, where they will take on Angola on February 2. Their goal is to capture a fourth continental championship.
