“Obasanjo should realize that he brought this thing into Nigeria. He was the person who caused us to embrace it in 1979. He probably seen it as costly and unsatisfactory when he represented us for a considerable length of time and, surprisingly, needed an expansion for an additional four years.

“Thus, the manner in which he is sounding, it resembles the man is getting more shrewd subsequent to leaving office,” Onanuga expressed, responding to Obasanjo’s post-official position.

Obasanjo said, “The shortcoming and disappointment of liberal majority rules government as it is polished come from its set of experiences, content and setting and practice. When you move from every one individuals to a delegate of individuals, you begin to experience inconveniences and issues.

“For the people who characterize it as the standard of the greater part, should the minority be disregarded, dismissed and prohibited? So, we have an arrangement of government wherein we have no hands to characterize and plan and we go on with it in any event, when we realize that it isn’t working as far as we’re concerned.

“The individuals who carried it to us are presently scrutinizing the rightness of their innovation, today deliverability and its significance without change. The quintessence of any arrangement of government is the government assistance and prosperity of individuals, every one individuals.”

He contended that Nigerians must “examine the presentation of a majority rule government in the West where it began from and with us the inheritors of what we are left with by our frontier powers.”
