Barr. Callistus Ihejiagwa [KSJI]

The Imo state chairman of Labour Party, Barr. Callistus Ihejiagwa has said that Imolites have no confidence on the present constituted INEC in State.

Answering questions during an interview in his office recently, Barr. Ihejiagwa explained that during the last general election, INEC under the present Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) was highly compromised and ever since then the REC has not rescued herself either by resigning or being redeployed.

Barr. Ihejiagwa cried out that Imo State is bleeding and Imolites should be allowed to breath air of peace and inhalable right to freedom through free and fair election.

Imolites are not fools. We need a peaceful election. You cannot suffer and strangulate the masses. It is frustrating that after voting for candidates of their choice, their wish will be overturned by this umpire,” he lamented

He however, urged Imolites to come out enmasse to vote out the APC administration, adding “November 11 is the destiny of our children for good health care, cured environment, economic growth and posterity. Join hands with LP to effect the change,” he stated.

The party chairman told Imolites to participate fully in the Nov. 11 election without fear of any intimidation to vote in Senator Athan Achonu, assuring “our eagle eyes are on INEC. It will not be business as usual.”

He appealed to the security agencies to be neutral and help to create an enabling environment for free and fair election.
